Your dogs visit to Tupper Lake

When planning a trip, one of the first things my husband and I think about is if Ruger (our teddy bear of a black lab) can come too. Some place just aren’t very dog friendly and we have to end up boarding him or finding someone to watch him. His puppy eyes when we leave are one of the worst sights I’ve had to experience, so we generally pick travel destinations based on their dog friendliness.

Tupper Lake is becoming more and more of a dog friendly travel destination. With dog friendly lodging, dining, and even hiking challenges for the pup, Tupper Lake is the perfect destination for your whole family!

Stay at The Faust Motel

The pet friendly Faust Motel has been recently renovated and is the perfect basecamp for your Adirondack vacation. Enjoy your own beautiful cabin and a fire pit outside. The Faust Motel is within walking distance to Raquette River Brewery, making it a great spot for a beverage. There is a great lawn area for your dog to have some space to play and run. Let Mark and Susan make you feel like you are at home during your stay.

Hike the Triad

Set out to conquer the Tupper Triad, made up of Coney Mountain, Mt Arab, and Goodman Mountain. Dogs are welcome on the hikes, but we ask that they remain on a leash and that you pick up after them. Take in the views and enjoy the fire tower on Mt Arab! Once you complete the triad and tire out your four legged friends, register online or in person for your Triad patch! And don’t forget to register your dog too; they get their own patch and are listed on their own roster online!

Raquette River Brewery

After a day or two on the trails, the best place to put your feet up and relax with your pup is at Raquette River Brewery. Enjoy a cold craft beer and sit by the fire taking in some local Tupper Lake flair. Your pup is bound to meet a few new friends, as most people bring their dogs to the brewery. And before you leave, a new Raquette River Brewery collar is just what your dog needs as a souvenir!

Amado

After spending a day on the trails and relaxing at Raquette River Brewery, you’re ready for a delicious dinner. Check out Amado’s new courtyard experience where you can sit at tables with heaters or reserve a private greenhouse. Each greenhouse has their own air conditioner/heat source and Alexa speaker, as well as a call light if you need a waitress. The amazing food complements the beautiful dining experience. Amado’s outside dining and greenhouses are completely dog friendly.
