What’s so special about eating your way through Tupper Lake in the fall? It could be stopping for coffee and something sweet after a morning drive through the mountains. Or settling into a cozy dining room before grabbing a drink somewhere with a lot of Adirondack character. Fall in Tupper Lake is great for slow meals, scenic drives, and visiting new places you’ll want to come back to year after year.

The Woodshed on Park

A favorite since it opened, and it’s easy to see why. Tucked right on Park Street, it’s cozy with an old-fashioned feel that’s a perfect fit with its inventive, and ever changing, take on food and cocktails. It’s the ideal place for an inviting dinner where you can settle in and enjoy something truly special. Reservations are recommended, especially on busy fall weekends.

Spruce and Hemlock

This family owned cafe, bakery, and gift shop is right in the heart of Tupper Lake. The business started in 2015 and has evolved from a small gift shop into a local favorite for fresh food, coffee, and the best baked goods. Stop in for a breakfast sandwich, lunch, or a cup of coffee, but be sure to save room for something from the bakery. Their sweet treats are a big part of what keeps us coming back. Before you go, be sure to browse the Adirondack-inspired gifts and locally made goods throughout the shop.

Amado

Amado has become a Tupper Lake classic for good reason. This chef-run restaurant brings flavors and inspiration from around the world to Tupper Lake, creating a menu that stands out. The food is the star, but the atmosphere is part of the experience, too. When the weather cooperates, Amado’s heated outdoor dining area offers a special place to enjoy dinner and drinks surrounded by the Adirondacks. It’s the type of spot that helps you slow down and enjoy the trip. Reservations are recommended.

The Trail’s End

For a completely different kind of stop, head to The Trail’s End. Recently renovated and redesigned, The Trail’s End brings together Adirondack luxury and the comfortable feel of a local bar. It’s the perfect place to pull in after a full day of exploring, grab a drink, and relax. Situated right at Simon Pond and Big Tupper Lake, the setting just adds to the adventure.

Enjoy Your Fall Trip!

In Tupper Lake, you don’t have to choose between big adventures and slowing down. You can spend the morning on a trail, take the scenic route into town, meander along Park Street, then settle in somewhere cozy for dinner.

The leaves may be the reason for the trip, but a few unforgettable meals might end up being what you talk about the most. We suggest you take the long way, stop for the baked goods, and try something new in Tupper Lake.
