The Little River is roughly 35 miles in length and under many instances quite narrow. Off Youngs Road you will utilize a state car-top boat launch for paddling. You can access up and downstream from here. There are some smaller rapids further downstream.
Getting there
From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 30 in Tupper Lake follow Route 3 toward Cranberry Lake. Continue through Cranberry Lake and into Star Lake. Then locate Youngs Road near the Nice N’ Easy off Route 3 and take that left. Follow here to the boat launch on the right.
Paddling
The launch is roadside, less than 50 feet from the parking lot. It's sand and gravel, with a slight drop to the shore. The river is narrow, with smaller rapids that may need to be portaged.
