Inlet Pond
Location:
Route 421, Tupper Lake

This small manmade pond has no official name, but Inlet Pond seems to fit as it is an inlet of Horseshoe Lake. This short walk is not very long and could almost be considered roadside. The trail is not marked and the pond is within view the entire time.

How to get there

From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 30 in the Village of Tupper Lake follow Route 30 toward Long Lake. Continue to Route 421 on the right and follow here for 2.1 miles to the small pull-off on the left.

Key statistics

Distance: 0.2 miles round trip

Elevation gain: Minimal

Hiking

At the back of the pull-off, locate the trail on the right at a small boardwalk over a ditch. The trail leads to the old dam on the pond. Beaver activity is frequent in this area and it’s possible to see one.
