StarLab: Messengers of Time and Space

Explore the future of space travel at the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory

Modern astronomical surveys are transforming how we observe the Universe. New facilities, like the upcoming Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), will detect up to 10 million changes in the night sky every single night, sending out alerts within minutes.

This show explores how the International Gemini Observatory works in partnership with sky monitoring observatories such as Rubin to study dramatic, time changing cosmic events. It also reveals how astronomers look beyond light alone, using other “cosmic messengers” like high energy cosmic rays, elusive neutrinos, and even gravitational waves rippling through space time to better understand the Universe.
