About Homeschool Days at The Wild Center

Bring the homeschool experience to The Wild Center and immerse yourself in STEAM-based nature learning like never before. This year we are offering private homeschool experiences, events, and activities catered specifically for you. Homeschool families are welcome to participate in private programs, meet our animal ambassadors, and stop by the Naturalist Cabinet for science and art-based activities.

Free for members. Non-members: Adult (18+), $15; Youth (5-17), $5, children ages 4 and under are free

February 13: Snow Day

Join us for a day of winter discovery as we blend science and outdoor play to explore the unique properties of Adirondack snow. From investigating microscopic crystals and tracking wildlife on the trails to contributing to real-world NASA climate research through the X-Snow project, this event offers hands-on learning for all ages.

Animal Tracking with Wild Neighbors Nature Connection

10:30 am-11:30 am, 3:00 pm-4:00 pm on the Outdoor Trails (meet in Great Hall)

Snowshoeing & Kick Sledding

11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Animal Viewing Window (exit via Naturalist Cabinet)

Snow Forts & Snowball Target Practice

10:00 am-5:00 pm at Pines Play Area
