Floodwood Road to Tupper Lake

Effective April 1, the trail from Floodwood Road to Tupper Lake is closed to all users until construction is complete. This section is an active construction zone until this notice is lifted. While signs have been removed, DEC is requesting people avoid this section of the trail while they finish up work.

Please do your part to avoid slowing down construction.

Saranac Lake Depot Area

The area of the trail located adjacent to the Depot will be closed starting today, Monday, September 29th, through Thursday, October 2nd, as contractors will be working to paint and touch up the Depot cosmetically. Please be mindful of the closure. Trail travelers are advised to use the road located through the parking lot as a detour during the closure.

What You Can Use

  • The portion of the trail from Lake Placid to Floodwood Road (about 25 miles) is open year-round for public use, with the minor detor near the Saranac Lake Depot.
