A Children’s Camp in the Heart of the Adirondacks

Inspiring and empowering young people to be confident, collaborative, and courageous is at the heart of everything Eagle Island does.

Built as one of the finest Great Camps of its day in a classic Adirondack style, Eagle Island has been home to summer camp programs for over 80 years. Today, Eagle Island is run as a private non-profit offering a variety of youth and family camps throughout the summer. Located on its own 31-acre private island on Upper Saranac Lake, participants have a unique opportunity to unplug and reconnect with the natural world in the heart of the Adirondacks.

An Active Day of Outdoor Exploration, Education, & Fun

Daily camp activities include open waterfront time (free swimming, kayaking, canoeing, games, and more), swim lessons, STEM-inspired outdoor education, camper-choice activities, and camper-led play in the Peninsula (an open space for campers to explore and use their imaginations). Other activities offered include nature education, team-building, crafts, and traditional camp survival skills like fire-building and shelter-building.

Small group sizes ensure that Eagle Island Staff get to know each camper, helping to create programming that fits their interests and needs for a memorable and transformative summer camp experience.
