Star Lake is public to all but this small sliver of land is privately owned. This access is your only available route to the lake. Once on the lake you have to be committed to your boat for the duration, there is no place to take shore leave. However, with that being said, Star Lake is a very scenic destination for your canoe or kayak adventure.
Getting there
From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 30 in Tupper Lake follow Route 3 Cranberry Lake. Continue through Cranberry Lake and into Star Lake. In Star Lake locate Youngs Road off Route 3; the car top launch is on the corner with ample parking.
Paddling
There is a 200-300 foot carry downhill over a gravel and dirt surface from the parking to the lake. It is a car-top launch. Motor boats are allowed on the water, but there is no motor boat access for the general public.
