Panther Pond
Location:
Route 3, Tupper Lake

From the parking area locate the herd path on the pond side of the parking area. The carry is a gentle downhill, with decent footing. This is a great pond for first time users and to introduce others to paddling. It is also a nice place to just sit back and relax. It does get some use by local fisherman.

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 30 and Route 3 in Tupper Lake, follow Route 3 toward Saranac Lake. Continue past the other junction with Route 30 and continue on Route 3. Locate the trailhead for Panther Mountain on the left a couple miles further and park in the parking lot across the road.

Paddling

The launch is dirt with about a 100 foot, downhill carry. This is a small pond that's very mellow and sheltered.
