Little Wolf Pond is a nice relaxing paddle with a launch point at the public beach. It’s a great destination to sit back and soak up some outstanding summer weather or paddle the shore to feast your eyes on the changing colors. A small outlet at the north end can add a bit of narrow paddling for a short distance, but does open up possibilities of wildlife viewing.

How to get there

From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 30 in Tupper Lake follow Route 3 toward Piercefield. Continue for 1.5 miles to Washington Street on the right. Continue up Washington Street for under 1-mile to 4th Avenue on the left. Follow here to Wolf Pond Road and take a right, the launch and beach area will be just up the road on the left.

Paddling

The launch is roadside, less than 100 feet of a carry to a sandy shore. This is a decent sized body of water but under most cases remains fairly calm. Most all of the shoreline is private aside from the town beach area.

Always be on the lookout for motorboats.
