These falls are unique and not often visited. Here, you’ll only find the peaceful sound of water rushing the falls. The views downstream of the falls are just as lovely as the falls themselves.
How to get there
From the intersection of Routes 3 and 30 in the Village of Tupper Lake, follow Route 3 toward Cranberry Lake. Continue to Sevey Corners and take a right onto Route 56. Continue for 1.5 miles to reach the path on the right. There is a DEC “Canoe Carry” marker on a stump at the top of an embankment alongside the road. There is no designated parking but parking is permitted on the road shoulder.
By the numbers
- Distance: 0.2 miles
- Elevation loss to the falls: about 50 feet
Hiking
From the road, you’ll have to climb up the embankment and find an unmarked path that clearly leads to the Raquette River. The river bank is 0.1 mile from the highway and hikers can walk another 0.1 miles to explore the shoreline before running into private land. Please respect private property.
