If pond fishing is your preference, Little Wolf Pond in Tupper Lake is a great option. Home to a public campground & beach, this pond is a popular escape not only for fishing enthusiasts, but for the whole family as well. Much of the shoreline is private; however an expansive beach area provides easy access to the water.
How to get there
From the intersection of Routes 3 and 30 in Tupper Lake, follow Route 3 just just under 2 miles west toward Cranberry Lake. Turn right onto Washington Street and continue for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto 4th Ave and the Little Wolf Campground will be in 0.3 miles. A beach launch is available at the town owned Little Wolf Beach and Campground.
Fishing and ice fishing
In Little Wolf Pond anglers will find walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed. The entire shoreline is shallow enough to support plant life, while the deepest hole is located on the eastern side of the pond not far from the beach.
