Dear Tupper Lake Business Community,

This Sunday, July 13, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad kicks off its 2025 passenger schedule to Tupper Lake. Trains will operate every Sunday through October 12 (with the exception of September 7), along with select Saturday service.

The Sunday train, "The Adirondack Mountaineer," offers passengers a 4.5-hour layover in Tupper Lake, giving them ample time to explore and support local businesses. The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) is partnering with the Adirondack Scenic Railroad to provide passengers with helpful information as they board, so they can make the most of their visit.

If your business will be open and welcoming train passengers this season, we kindly ask that you complete this short participation form. If you’re offering any special promotions or discounts for train guests, please include that information as well, so we can share it with riders.

  • Departure: Approximately 4:00 PM
  • Layover: 4.5 hours

Shuttle buses will bring passengers to the following locations:

  • Main Street Businesses
  • Timberjaxx Pass
  • Tupper Lake Waterfront Park
  • Park Street Business District
  • The Tupper Lake History Museum
  • The Wild Center

A printed map of local businesses within walking distance of the train station is also provided to passengers.

Additional Train Experiences

Tupper Lake Explorer

Route: Tupper Lake → Sabattis

  • Operates Sundays (except September 7)
  • Departs at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
  • 1.5-hour round-trip scenic ride

Rail Bikes: The Raquette Rambler 

Route: 6-Mile Round Trip Rail Bike Ride

  • Operates Wednesday - Saturday
  • Departs at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

High Peaks Limited

Route: Utica → Tupper Lake

  • Operates Select Saturdays: July 19, August 30, September 20 & 27, October 4 & 11
  • Layover: 1 hour
