Don't Miss Out!

With the chilly weather and changing of the leaves comes fall, and a whole new lineup of events. The events we have this time of year are some of my favorites. Race through the mountains, take photos of the stars, or dress up in your favorite costume. From the Adirondack Public Observatory to the Tupper Triad to Halloween, we have a jam-packed fall for you. 

Astrophotography Workshop

From October 19-22, Adirondack Public Observatory will present and host an astrophotography workshop. This is a great opportunity to perform astrophotography under some of the darkest skies in the Eastern U.S. Meet, chat, and exchange ideas with other astrophotographers as you take advantage of our location and capture images at your own level. You can bring your own equipment, or use the observatory's. This event is for all levels of astrophotographers; however, it does require registration and a fee. Triad Challenge

Big Tupper Brewing will host the first Triad Challenge this year! On October 21 at 9 a.m., participants will start at Mount Arab and run, walk, or crawl up all three mountains to compete for the fastest completion time. This is a great opportunity to see all three mountains and to earn your patch in one day. It costs $30 to enter the challenge, with a T-shirt, pint of beer, and lunch provided afterward at Big Tupper Brewing. Halloween Walk

The town of Tupper Lake is hosting their Halloween Walk on the multi-use trail on October 28 from 3-5 p.m. The walk will begin at the gazebo at the Municipal Park and end at the community room in the emergency services building. There will be volunteers handing our treats (or tricks) along the trail, and afterward you can enjoy a warm drink and family-friendly games in the community room. The events page has more information about this Halloween event.

Put on by the Chamber of Commerce, businesses on Park Street greet all the ghosts and goblins, who take to the street on Halloween to collect their candy. Children can go from business to business to fill their treat bags and show off their costumes. Be sure to stop by the chamber building at 121 Park Street to pick up a special treat. This is a great time to explore Park Street and see the kids out and about in their costumes! Start thinking about your costume, and call the chamber.
