Tupper Lake's Summer Sunset Series Continues

There’s a party in Tupper Lake and you’re invited!

This summer marks the second year of the Summer Sunset Series at the Tupper Lake Bandshell in Flanders Park, and the lineup is looking great. And if the entertainment isn’t enticing enough, think of the scene: free shows set against a backdrop of the sun setting over a sparkling Adirondack lake. It doesn't get much better than that!

The weekly performances happen in Flanders Park every Tuesday at 7 p.m. from July 3 through August 27. The only exception is the first concert, which is on a Wednesday. Grab your dinner to go, pull up a blanket, and enjoy Shakespeare in the Parks or rock, blues, folk, funk, swing, or opera, depending on when you’re there.

Wednesday, July 3: Tupper Celebrates the Fourth! 

Check out local favorites Ben, Jay, and Ian from 5-6:30 p.m., then stick around for a program of patriotic music from 7-8 p.m. The grand finale is, of course, an awe-inspiring fireworks display — and you'll have the best seat in the house from the park.

Tuesday, July 9: Annie & the Hedonists

Swinging sounds, sassy lead vocals, and smooth-as-silk harmonies — the Schenectady-based Annie & the Hedonists capture the best parts of acoustic blues, vintage jazz, swing, and folk roots Americana.

Tuesday, July 16: Woods Tea Company 

Coming to you straight from the mountains of Vermont, Woods Tea Co. has been bringing their blend of folk, Celtic, fiddle tunes, and old-time musical styles to audiences since 1981.

Tuesday, July 23: Shakespeare in the Parks 

If you love Shakespearean theater, this is a no-brainer, but if you're not a fan that shouldn't stop you from experiencing the iconic poet's stories in a different way. This year the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts will perform an abridged version of Macbeth that's great for all ages.

Tuesday, July 30: Moment's Notice

A local supergroup consisting of four veteran musicians who express their love of well-crafted, well-rehearsed arrangements by playing jazz standards, funk, Latin, blues, and rock.

Tuesday, August 6: Jim & E 

Get ready for this dynamic duo’s covers, played on guitar, mandolin, and ukulele. Great harmonies are included! 

Tuesday, August 13: Phil Henry and the News Feed 

Modern day folk singer Phil Henry keeps it real with funky, folk-pop, acoustic originals that reflect the aspirations and realities of his small-town upbringing.

Tuesday, August 20: High Peaks Opera

See this group of world-class performers do “Passion in the Pines,” a program of opera arias and ensembles, operetta, and musical theatre. 

Tuesday, August 27: Amber in Green

Our neighbors to the north, this alternative band from the Malone area writes melodic, original rock music.
