This summer, Park Street is taking on a new look. With three new businesses opening up, and existing businesses expanding, Park Street will look much different than it has in summers past. New additions to Park Street include Spruce & Hemlock, The Row, and Stacked Graphics. Birch Boys are relocating and teaming up with The Adirondack Store and moving into a bigger location, and Well Dressed Food has an expansion underway. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect to see on Park Street this summer.
Spruce & Hemlock
Spruce & Hemlock is relocating their store to 111 Park Street. The store will still be filled with all of the Tupper Lake souvenirs we all love! Spruce & Hemlock is going to be open the first week in May, with the exact day to be announced. Souvenirs, home decor, and more will be in stock, with new items arriving throughout May and June. Spruce & Hemlock will continue to be a must-stop shop during your trip to Tupper Lake.
The Row
The Row relocated to Park Street during the spring and has already officially opened. They are a boutique with beautiful clothing and accessories for women and girls. The Row was located across from the waterfront park, but decided to join the Park Street action and move to 123 Park Street.
Stacked Graphics
Stacked Graphics relocated to a Park Street location with Spruce & Hemlock. They are already up and running. They are contract printers that specialize in silk screening, embroidery, and signage. They do work for local colleges, museums, schools, etc. You can find their screen printed clothing at Spruce & Hemlock!
Expansion
Birch Boys & The Adirondack Store
The Adirondack Store was founded in 1955, and their flagship store resides in Lake Placid. Inside their Lake Placid store, you’ll quickly be absorbed by the “wow” factor that radiates throughout the whole building. It’s an exhibit in itself. This is largely due to their one-of-a-kind merchandise, as well as their superb skills in merchandising. Their products include Adirondack artifacts, antiques, oddities, hand-made goods, wood-carved items, and gift / decor items produced from local crafters. They also offer custom interior design services for homes, camps, and other businesses. Their store has earned recognition as one of the most iconic and luxurious retail ventures in the region — one which has stood the test of time.
We asked Garrett from Birch Boys how he thinks they will fit with The Adirondack Store.
“In a way, Birch Boys contrasts with The Adirondack Store in many ways. We’re a new company, and we specialize in our ability to source and produce wellness products of Adirondack origin. We use a lot of new marketing techniques, and we’re a main player in a newly emerging industry — healing mushrooms. Our mission is to empower everyday people through the abundance of nature, wellness, and love that the Adirondack Mountains have to offer.”
“By collaborating, we are combining the old with the new. The concept is that our respective differences will help to nurture an economic climate that reveals how much other local businesses can find more modern ways to capitalize on the the same traditional value of the Adirondacks that we all love.”
The black building on Park Street will be the second physical installment of the Adirondack store. This store will feature the debut of the Birch Boys Bar — a massive tea bar/wellness station, with a Starbucks-esque vibe. All in all, an appropriate theme for the store-to-be can be described as “a taste of the Adirondacks.”
Party on Park
Join us on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25, for Party on Park, a celebration of the current and new businesses on Park Street. Traffic on Park Street will be shut down for this event, spanning from Cliff street to Mill street. The police and fire departments will be here for the kids! It will be fun filled for the whole family!
