Beth Joseph Synagogue
Location:
57 Lake St, Tupper Lake

Built in 1905, Beth Joseph Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in the Adirondacks, and one of a few synagogues outside of New York City listed in the Register of New York State Historic Buildings.

The earliest Jewish settlers in the Adirondacks came first as peddlers.  They carried 75 pound packs full of clothing, fabric and small household goods unto homes, farms, and logging camps.

Today, this important national landmark still holds Sabbath services at 7 p.m. on Friday evenings during the summer months, as well as Rosh Hashanah Services.  Private rentals are available. Details can be found on the website.

Each summer the synagogue hosts a concert with Blue Line Jazz.
