Directions to Access Points:
From the intersection of Route 30 and 28N in Long Lake follow Route 30 toward Tupper Lake. Continue out of town and turn left on Circle Road. Follow it for just under 3 miles to the split that's past the bridge over Little Tupper Lake. Turn left on Sabattis Road and continue for about 5 miles to the Lake Lila Access Road on the left.
Shoreline Fishing: Limited, with a long hike to the southwest side of the lake. There is fishing along the canoe access point and a bit of a herd path along shore for some additional access.
Boat Access: Canoe/kayak only, with a 0.3 mile portage to the shore. The best fishing is from a boat, so consider bringing a light boat or a second person to help with the carry.
- Look for panfish around the shallows and islands, and also look out for rocks in these areas.
- Troll for bass and salmon in the deeper parts of the lake.
- Jigs tend to work well for this lake, as do simple garden worms for panfish, perch, and brookies.
Fish Species Types: Brook trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, panfish, perch, smallmouth bass, bullhead
Special Regulations: Always follow New York state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.
