New Tupper Lake Gateway and Wayfinding signage in the works
Nov. 15, 2017
A work group comprised of town, village, ROOST and The Wild Center staff met earlier this week to develop a signage plan for Tupper Lake, with the goal of unifying and incorporating Tupper Lake's branding of "Connect and Discover."
When complete, there will be new signs at all three entrances to Tupper Lake, wayfinding signage through the town and village, as well as at area attractions including Little Wolf Beach and the Tupper Lake Waterfront park.
Specifically, the plan calls for interpretive signage along the multi-use recreational use Junction Pass Trail and other pedestrian and bicycle-friendly paths.
Additionally, waterfront kiosks will be erected at various points of interest along the Raquette River. These are four-sided structures that incorporate information and facts about the river and its important impact on Tupper Lake. These kiosks are a part of the Raquette River Blueway program.
Once developed, sign templates with the unifying branding will be available to anyone looking to erect signs in Tupper Lake.
Installation is earmarked for spring 2018.
