historical sites?

We are planning a visit to the Wild Center but we're history buffs and wondered if there were historical sites in the area.

One of my favorite spots

Hi Laura,

I would recommend checking out the former site of the Horse Shoe Forestry Company. This is probably one of my favorite spots to explore - not only for it's rich history, but also simply for the beauty of this location. The ruins and information kiosk is located next to Low's Upper Dam where the Bog River meets Hitchens Pond. You can get to it by paddling from the lower dam to the upper dam or by land by hiking or biking from Horseshoe Pond to the Upper Dam. Here is a recent blog that explores some of the cool history you will find at this location:

Happy Exploring!
