Directions to Access Points
From the intersection of Route 30 and 3 in Tupper Lake, follow Route 30 toward Long Lake. Continue for about 9 miles and turn right on Route 421 (Horseshoe Lake Road). Follow that for roughly 4 miles to the trailhead on the right. The trailhead is obscure, with a small DEC sign on a tree that's set back in the woods.
Shoreline access is the only reasonable access for this pond with a 1-mile hike along a well-maintained trail. There are several decent areas from the trail around the south and west sides of the pond.
- Float a bobber for best results, as the pond's shallowness causes snagging.
- The brook trout are not all that impressive in size, but they are fun to catch.
