Grab your hook, line and sinker for the second annual NYS Ice Pro-Am Fishing Tournament coming to Tupper Lake, February 15th & 16th!
This Tournament Series consists of three large ice fishing events across NYS starting with Chautauqua Lake (Jan. 17-19), followed by Tupper Lake (Feb. 14-16), and wrapping-up on Sodus Bay (Feb. 21-23).
The 2-day event held on Big Tupper Lake will feature two divisions: “Pro-Am” and “Open”.
The Open Division is run like a general tournament, where the largest five fish for each species place in the tournament. This Division is geared towards the weekend anglers and novice ice fishermen, and each angler is considered a competitor.
The Pro-Am Division is scored on a point system and requires the anglers (single or two-person teams) to catch multiple species to score points. The top five teams in the Division with the most points place in the tournament. The Pro-Am Division is geared for those anglers who are sponsored by fishing companies and/or who crave the highest level of competition with the greatest pay-out.
The tournament will end on Sunday with a formal awards ceremony with big cash, big prizes and big trophies.
The New York State Ice Pro-Am Fishing Tournament is put together by Great Lakes Pro Fishing team co-captains Jeff and Tim Thomas, owners of Finders Keepers Fishing Services.
